Wes is a 29 year resident of Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida, having moved here from Louisville, KY in August 1990, where he was in the jewelry and thoroughbred horse racing business. I am currently promoting the Emerald Coast Home and Boat Show, which is in it’s 20th consecutive year and is now the largest and best organized business event in NW Florida.
Over the past twenty years. Wes has promoted many business expos, home shows, health fairs, job fairs, boat shows and music festivals in this area, as well as publishing three magazines, maps for the Destin Chamber of Commerce and the Okaloosa County TDC. Wes is also an advertising, sales and marketing professional having worked with over 1500 business owners from Panama City to Pensacola.
The music festivals were known as The Paradise Music Festivals with Al Jardine of the fabulous Beach Boys, Little River Band, Jeff Cook from Alabama, Vince Vance and the Valiants, Tracy Lawrence, Julie Roberts and many other groups. Wes has also promoted other musical events including The Emerald Coast Sing Off.
The home shows and health fair events were called the Northwest Florida Business Expo and the Emerald Coast Home and Boat Show since the year 2000. These events have been held at the Santa Rosa Mall in Mary Esther, FL, Destin Middle School in Destin, FL, Saint Mary's Parish Life Center and the beautiful Emerald Coast Convention Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL over the past ten years.
The magazines were two real estate magazines for Remax and Coldwell Banker and a Health Care magazine called the Emerald Pages.
The current event - The Emerald Coast Home and Boat Show is a Fund-raiser for Children in Crisis, Homes for Heroes, The FWB Kiwanis Club and Special Olympics Florida will be held at the Emerald Coast Convention Center and will be the 34th event Wes has promoted in this area since 2000.
